Learn the basics
On-chain education
A practical starting point for reading public blockchain records.
Reading a blockchain record
Public blockchains expose information such as transaction identifiers, block numbers, timestamps, addresses, token movements, and contract interactions. A block explorer turns these records into a human-readable interface.
What public data cannot tell you
A public address does not automatically reveal the identity of its owner. Explorer data also cannot establish why a transaction was made or guarantee that an asset can be recovered.
Safer research habits
- Verify the network before interpreting a transaction.
- Use the official domain of a wallet or exchange when seeking account support.
- Never disclose seed phrases, private keys, passwords, or one-time codes.
- Be cautious with anyone promising guaranteed recovery.
